It'll come when it comes. :)

As for Donny Rembrandt, I feel I should note that he actually was created as a Star Trek OC by two friends of mine, and he's being used with permission. And no, I didn't insult them or the character in that chapter. He's just as stupid in their universe. He's supposed to be an airhead.

I'd still like to know the chain of events which lead to having your head stuck in a food replicator. ;)

Anyway good update.

A comic relief character is always good...

I am reminded of a thief of mine in D&D, a cleptomaniac air-headwho kept blurting out inapropriate things to the wrong people after having stolen their stuff...
Fun times for all players, if not for their characters... :)

Chapter Twenty-Five

Fluidic Space

The Undine biodome seethed with activity, its tripedal inhabitants running through the fleshy corridors, or swimming through the organic fluids that filled the living structure. Guards armed with bio-synthetic antiproton rifles escorted the councilors to the inner sanctum, while the telepathic amplifiers that normally projected the council's meetings to the civilian and military personnel throughout the station were disabled, ensuring the utmost secrecy in this meeting - something that only happened during the most severely important of events.

<The High Council is now in session.> A tall Undine wearing a bio-engineered power-armor analogue began, its telepathic voice echoing in the minds of the other councillors. <The primary issue of this discussion is to determine the possibility of a C'Tan resurgence, as well as the possibility that the natives of ДЮЖ-417-ΩθA162-III, or hyu-mens should awaken the one possibly sleeping on ДЮЖ-417-ΩθA162-IV, who our records indicate to be the most powerful one of all.>

<The likelihood of such an incident grows greater by the minute.> another Undine said. <The humans are an insatiably curious race, and sooner or later, they WILL find the Noctis Labyrinth. Either by accident, or by design, it is only a matter of time before they awaken the ancient Star God, and bring doom to us all. It is imperative that we destroy the fourth planet!>

<And risk drawing undue attention to ourselves?> a third voice began. <Such an act would take the lives of over two billion of them, and they would come screaming for blood. Our blood. And if our infiltrators are correct, they have several weapons that could threaten us. Microscopic machines that can take us apart on the cellular level, as well as thalaron radiation weapons. If they and their allies knew where to strike, their counterattack would be disastrous.>

<Disastrous? I think you overestimate their chances!> the second Undine said. <A race such as them is worthy of few things, being able to cripple us is not one of them!>

<And your overconfidence shows itself once again.> the third voice said again. <Did you not once say that the Ancient artifacts on ФЌЮЖ-J12-VII posed no threat? I think we all know how that mission turned out.>

<We won that battle, didn't we?>

<Only at the cost of half our forces. In any case, we can neither risk destroying the fourth planet, nor making a direct assault against Awakened C'Tan elsewhere. As you all know, the Ancients ascended long ago, and the Necrons still slumber. All the other races who were part of the Old Alliance have either disappeared or gone extinct.>

<Once again, I also find myself wishing for the Necron slumber to end.> a fourth Undine said. <Once they turned against the C'Tan, they proved most useful in bringing them to their knees.> Several Undine nodded in agreement.

<In other news...> a new voice said. <Our infiltrators in the ДЮЖ-417-ΩθA162 system have noted that a new weapon, fielded by the humans and several of their allied races. They say it is called 'Evangelion', although what that name means is beyond my guess. It was designed to fight Adam's Children, but it is entirely possible that the C'Tan could be fought by these weapons as well. This was all they could bring us, however. Our infiltrators sent to NERV have a rather unpleasant tendency to go silent. At first, I thought that this was merely due to attempting to hide their actions from the humans, but we learned the truth not long ago.>

<Oh?> the third Undine asked.

<It seems that the head of NERV is more cunning than we anticipated. The leader of the organization, a human named Ikari, has an almost supernatural ability to identify our infiltrators. What becomes of them is unknown, and perhaps, for the best, unknowable.>

<So, humanity means to fight Adam's Children.> the third Undine said. <I am unsure if I should wish them luck, or slap them across the back of their heads.>

The trek through Ashenvale forest had taken longer than Shandris had expected, if only due to the unfamiliarity the humans and Breen had with it. She had nearly burst out laughing when she saw the look on the face of the human O'Neill when she had told the aliens that no one was to harm any of the trees in Ashenvale, no matter how hard it might make their path. O'Neill had then said something along the lines of "damn eco-hippy elves." She would have to ask the other humans just what a 'hippy' was. Most likely, she would ask the one with the eyeglasses, Daniel Jackson, what the term meant, since he was the one who had spent the most time with the other night elves, learning what bits of their culture he could. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the human jotting down notes on one of their strange devices - a padd, they'd called it. She walked over to the distracted human, and looked down at what he was writing. Only to find a completely unintelligible alphabet comprising the words on the screen. That was when Daniel looked up.

"Um, what are you doing?" he asked. Shandris pointed at the padd.

"I could ask the same of you." she said. "That device, you've been working with it the whole time you've been on our world, constantly asking my troops questions, and trying to uncover our pasts. Why?" she glared. "Care to explain?"

"It's part of my assignment." he replied.

"Your assignment. And that is?"

"To make contact with the locals, and see if a friendly First Contact could be established. Hopefully, by the time I'm done, we'll have established something that benefits all three of our races - humanity, the night elves, and the Breen." He paused. "Now, your troops said that the War of the Ancients - where you fought the Burning Legion, occurred ten thousand years ago. Is that right?" Shandris lowered her guard, sensing that the human was honest, and was driven by curiosity, rather than greed.

"Yes, it is. The demons of the Twisting Nether invaded ten millennia ago, and wreaked untold havoc across our world. There are some places which still bear the demonic scars, where their Fel magics have not yet dissipated." That got Daniel's attention.

"Even after all this time?" he asked. Shandris nodded, and Daniel turned back to putting the information on the padd before turning back to face the night elf general. "And your soldiers also say that you were a veteran of that war?" Shandris smiled slightly.

"I'd hardly consider myself a veteran. While I did see the war, I was only a sixteen-year-old girl at the time. Hardly what one would call a soldier." Daniel's eyes widened.

"I'm sorry, you said you were sixteen then?" Shandris nodded. Daniel found himself at a loss for words. If that were true, than the woman standing before him was alive during Earth's Neolithic period. If she had lived on Earth, she would have seen the entirety of human civilization, from the construction of the pyramids, to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, to the colonization of the Americas, to the first moon landing, to Zefram Cochrane's warp flight, to First Contact with the Ferengi, to the Trolloc Wars, until now. One could only guess what knowledge she and her kind held. "How are you still alive now?" Shandris smiled.

"Priestess Tyrande will explain when we arrive at base camp, for she can explain better than I."

"And when will we get to your base camp?"

"Soon. Very soon."

Buenos Aires, South America, Earth.

Gendo frowned, facing the corpse in front of him. The body once belonged to Lieutenant Izuhara, or at least, the creature posing as Izuhara. Reaching into his desk, and pulled out a hypospray, the first step in either confirming or denying his suspicions. Just before he put it to the corpse's neck, he turned up to face Lieutenant Stevens, who had brought the corpse to him.

"Are you sure that he died as you said?" Gendo asked.

"Positive." the Asha'man replied. "He got real nervous as I was talking to him, and the next thing I knew his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed. I sensed his soul flee his body - he was dead before he even hit the floor."

"I see." Gendo said, pushing the trigger on the hypospray, releasing its contents into the remains of the fake Izuhara. To no one's surprise, the corpse began growing, regaining its original shape - a tripedal, three-meter-tall Undine. "Third one this month, that makes it, what, twelve total?"

"More or less." Stevens replied, before facing the Undine corpse laying on the floor. "Shall I?" Gendo nodded. Stevens rolled up his sleeves, and put his right hand out towards the dead alien. A white-hot jet of flame shot from his fingers, quickly reducing the body to ash. Sensing the heat, the force-field generators kicked in, surrounding the flame to help stop it from spreading, while sprinklers activated, turning the ash into a slurry of mud.

"Computer." Gendo said. "Lock onto the remains of the Undine corpse, and beam them into the Geofront garden." The mud - hard to believe that this was all that remained of the Undine - disappeared in the shimmering glow of a transporter beam. "And computer, erase the last ten minutes of footage from my office. Authorization code Ikari Four-Seven-Alpha-Zulu."

"Acknowledged." the computer voice said. After Lieutenant Stevens left, Gendo smirked.

Undine. he thought. When will they learn?

Well guys, I'm afraid I have both good news and bad news.

The bad news is that I probably won't be updating this 'fic. The reasons? Well, as I looked back on both it and some of my notes for it, I found that a lot about the setting clashed with itself, and that some things just didn't make sense. Plus, the first few chapters are kinda weak.

The good news? I'm re-writing it. Think of it as a reboot, remake, or Rebuild. Yes, "Rebuild of Fluid Power Evangelion: You Can (Not) Screw Up". The new title will be "Fluidus Potentia Evangelion" - which means... more or less the same thing. So no, I'm not abandoning it. Just resetting it.

"Fluidus Potentia Evangelion" (or FPE 2.0) will still use the same seven franchises: Star Trek, BattleTech, Warcraft, Stargate, Warhammer 40,000, The Wheel of Time, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's just that some things will be different this time around.

Like:

The Star Trek and BattleTech elements will be toned up a bit, while the 40K ones will be toned down. Oh don't worry, the Tau and Necrons are still playing important roles, Ciaphas Cain, Amberly Vail, and Ferik Jurgen are still going to make appearances, and chainswords and Baneblades will still be things. But the Space Marines themselves? They're leaving, since I never felt they fit the aesthetic of FPE. They're being replaced with the Elementals from BattleTech - in other words, I'm just switching out one set of genetically-engineered, power-armor wearing super-soldiers with another.

As for the Star Trek bits, well, here's something I should have done from the very beginning. The Klingons and Cardassians are now part of FPE.

There will be a few changes here and there, but mostly, the story will be the same, just... better.
