Write down your ideas for the chapter in sentences, then place them in the order you want them to be, and then start from there... :)

Thanks.

But part of the reason, I think, is that I've also got another fanfic brewing in my head, one that's been dying to break out for months. "Fluid Power Evangelion". A Star Trek/BattleTech/Warcraft/Stargate SG-1/Warhammer 40,000/Wheel of Time/Evangelion crossover. And no, it doesn't bring in all the factions and races, and it invents some.

Some notes for it:
- Humanity is ruled by the United Nations Star League, or UNSL for short. Sort of a mix between the United Federation of Planets and the Star League, with just a bit of the Imperium of Man thrown in.

- The only part of the Imperium that comes in is the Blood Ravens chapter, as Dawn of War was what got me interested in 40K in the first place. In this, they were part of "Project: Blood Raven", a super-soldier program. The starships used are those of the UFP, while having BattleMechs from BattleTech enhancing the army.

- Remember my "Carnage and Mayhem in Dune" thread, where the Necrons, the Ori, and Species 8472 all show up at once? Well, add in the Burning Legion from Warcraft, the Angels from Evangelion, and all sorts of Shadowspawn and Darkfriends from the Wheel of Time, and you'll have humanity's enemies in this setting. 8472 is called the Undine in this fanfic, after their Star Trek: Online name.

- Humanity does get some allies, or at least, races not trying to conquer or exterminate us. The Asgard, the Ferengi, the Ogier, the Night Elves, and a few others.

- Some of the more nonsensical elements of Evangelion have been dropped, and the nature of the AT Field has been changed.

-Rand al'Thor is an EVA pilot.

- SEELE's goals have changed...

And that's all I'm going to say.

Well your idea sounds like fun and you have to do what you have to do but I hope you don't end up perpetually chasing the proverbal tail. Ideas, before you start on them, always seem brighter and fresher than after you've began slogging your way through at least that's how I've found it to be. I guess I'm trying to say you have an interesting story here and I hope all interest hasn't been lost in it.

Oh don't worry. I have no intention of abandoning this fic to the four winds.

your new idea is promising! but don't abandon this one. Fereingi warhammer style? I'm envisioning a massive amount of cartels and companies competing and selling and buying all across the known universe involved in almost everything..with the few large major hypercorporations like a fusion of Wayland-Yutani and the British East India Company (especially the fashion Ferengi have so much better taste than WY does)

your other factions sound just as awesome..are the udine gonna be going after every one?

oh did you like the ham to ham combat?

So, considering that it's been two years since your last update, is this fic abandoned to the four winds? :)

Yeah, pretty much. :(

FPE isn't. The reason I haven't updated that is because my other dog died not too long ago, and my computer froze on me when I was writing Chapter Sixteen.

Yeah. Both of my dogs died only seven months apart.

As for the fanfic, I'll tell you what I had planned, to make up for abandoning it:
The crew of the Lexington would go down to fight the Orion pirates, but Julius' staff would get stolen by them. They'd take it to their leader, who would try to study the warpstone in the staff, but would be corrupted by it, and would mutate into some expy of Safer Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, only more Lovecraftian. He would then go and launch a sneak attack on Earth, (to be specific, the Vatican), forcing the Lexington to head to Earth, where the crew would fight him and his lackeys. Julius would recognize the effects of Chaos mutations, and would start sacrificing the Orions he killed in combat to summon Tarovos. Tarovos would then come, and we'd get an epic battle between a Lord of Change and a heavily mutated Orion pirate leader. Tarovos would win, the crew of the Lexington would go back to their ship, and Q would later visit Julius telling him that while he hasn't fully redeemed himself yet, he's on the right path. Q then disappears, and trolls Tzeentch, by unleashing Jar Jar and other goons on him.
