Did you ever read the story about the Voikolu Confederacy? You may want to read about it, it tells the story of an Empire that's about thrice larger than what you can think about. But it's been written in 1991 I think, and it's hard to find on Internet.

I don't get it, what does the Calathrinan Empire wanking have to do with the OT of this thread? Besides which, there are plenty of science fiction powers out there with far greater power and territory. The Xelee, The Culture, and the Systems Commonwealth are examples of such space faring powers.

For one-thing, the Empire is not all-mighty and all-powerful. Several governments could surpass it in size, Mr. Mike. Second, it's technology is not all-powerful either. For one thing, it does not have a sort of Death Star.

Just because your empire does not have a specific type of planet or star killer superweapon, does not mean it is not wanked up. When you present your empire as bigger than several name brand franchise superpowers combined, it comes across as wank since the implication is that your empire could outproduce as well as outfight any or all of them as well. And what are these other governmental bodies of which you speak?

There is my Galactic Empire which spans most of the Universe. That is one body. Also, the Calathrinan Empire is powerful indeed.
