Commander Cocytus
Chief Engineer

Plasma leaks on decks 2 and 3 are locked down. Deck 5 is still giving us trouble, and I'm having to keep an eye on my warp core to make sure everyone is getting all the power they need. Multitasking is a necessary skill for engineers, after all. I noted a drop in consumption earlier and saw that someone on the bridge, who is either a saint or a lunatic or both, had lowered the shields in the middle of a battle.

My curiosity piqued, I stole a glance at my external sensor feed, since I like to keep an eye on what goes on outside, and saw that the dagger shaped starship we had encountered had apparently been pursuing a starfighter of some sort, barely any larger than a shuttle. Sending a giant battleship to capture a tiny starfighter seems overkill to me, but then, maybe the dagger vessel doesn't constitute a battleship to this Empire. Maybe their real battleships are truly enormous. It's too early to make any objective statement. What is certain is that, since we are on the front lines, the task of analyzing their technology and devising eventual countermeasures will fall on us, and hardest on me, the Chief Engineer. I was dismayed to see our shields re-raised in time for the fighter to shatter into sparks and gleads against them, but they got the pilot out safe and sound. Clearly my first task, once we get out of combat, is to speak with this individual, try to find out everything we can about their technology. He'll undoubtedly want to help us, since it seems only logical he would have as much interest in seeing this Empire defeated as we do.

An urgent call from the bridge focused my attention to a laser point. Bridge control of weapons was down, and the task of returning fire now fell to us.

"Kaplan, transfer as much power to the phasers as you can. Target coordinates 347 by 87 by 98."

"Locked"

"FIRE"

Lt. Praeothmin, Security Chief:

As I was running down the corridors, hoping to arrive on time to help as many people as possible, I arrived at Deck 5 into the most chaotic scene I had ever witnessed.
A lot of broken bodies were on the floor, enigneers working furiously to control the plasma leaks and my security team helping evacuating everyone.
I was about to help one of my officers, ensign Tomassino, drag an injured crewman out of the danger zone, when the ship lurched hard.
Tomassino was thrown towards one of the plasma leaks, so I reacted instinctively.
I dropped to the floor, my legs scisoring his, tripping him, so that he fell short of the plasma leak.
His right arm still brushed it, causing serious looking burns.
Tomassino's only reaction was to get up, and get back to the injured crewman and continue to drag him out of danger with my help.
He's definitely getting a commendation if we get out of this...
Once clear, I checked the injured crewman and applied first aid while waiting for the medical team to arrive.

It was at tha moment that I was advised that we had an unexpected guest onboard...
I quickly made my way to the transporter room...

I guess it should, now. I just had no idea it would spin like this, so that's why I put it here.

I feel a stirring in the force. A logical course of action is clear.

Now would be the logical time to launch fighters, inform our guest that he should join us on the bridge, and return the admiral's hail to discuss matters while the problem with our command systems is fixed.

Promptly fixed.

The lecture can be saved for later; logically speaking, now is not the time.

Why, yes, I suppose it should. Live long, prosper, and may the force be with this thread in its new home.

Yet another snippet of the stupendious and amazing chronicals of a (not so) mere mortal:

Cadet Sonofccn-Acting Ensign

"Phasers...that won't work." I informed our, amazingly spry, tactical officer.

I can feel the Captain's eyes boring into me, I've failed him. I don't know why I did what I did and, as much as it pains me to say it, had it not been for Roondar's quick actions more lives would have been lost due to my carelessness. His faith in me was slacken, deservedly so, and now when the chips were down the only way to save my reputation with him, impress upon him my skill and ability, was to single handily save us. I could only pray that the harsh severing of the bridge controls hadn't damaged my program.

As I am a genius I took great pains in constructing my Omega subroutine and included within the hiddne nestled bundle several protocols for almost every scenario including the Checkmate protocol, the gambit protocol but most importantly the headless protocol.

"Computer..." I say, sensing security moving to drag me away before I can save us, silently praying everything works correctly."...weapons, target-lock onto the largest power signature at grid marks 347 by 87 by 98 and fire a full salvo of photon torpedoes maxium yield. Repeat cycle until otherwise ordered or until preceeding parameters are altered."

I had designed the the Headless protocol in the event I was denied access to a computer consol, not that I expected that to happen as everyone realizes I am a boon/Godsend, and yet still needed to save my crewmates. Voice command was hardly that complex, through nonessential programs would have to be shut down to allow for the burden, and I had postivly loved the idea of controlling a starship with nary moving a muscle.

I was however disapointed when instead of comply properly the viewscreen shifted from a picture of the dagger ship to the opening credits of Back to the Future, the ship's intercom loudly blaring sound. Obviously there was a bug in the program, or Roondar's action had scrambled something, but I'm a big enough man, secure in my brilliance, to admit that something I do might not be one hundred percent flawless.

"Computer..." I sputter, thinking as quickly as I can which is considerable, as I feel a strong pair of arms grab me and lift me out of my hard earned seat."...recreation, video archive-lock onto the largest power signature at grid marks 347 by 87 by 98 and fire a full salvo of Back to the future maxium yield. Repeat cycle until otherwise ordered or until preceeding parameters are altered. Oh, also cancle previous order."

"Complying." The synthetic female voice informs me as the movie shuts down, replaced with the previous image of the dagger ship.

As well as set of new born stars which race towards the alien vessel.

"See. I can save us. I can work the ship until controls are returned. All of them...hopefully." I boast.

OOC:Yes I am aware I just went against JMS's orders. I'm just headstrong, impulsive and well...I don't listen well.

Lt Roondar - Tactical

It seems our intrepid ensign didn't realize why I fired phasers instead of torpedoes...

Of course my initial scan had confirmed his suspicion that torpedoes would be more effective (though my gut feeling says this tactical advantage will be shortlived, even a minor adjustment of the enemy ships odd shields would suffice to be able to block our torpedoes effeciently enough), but my goal was not to blow up the ship! I've had no order to do so and therefore merely aimed to disable some of their key systems and get them to stop firing on us.

Undue restraint? Maybe, but the Captain wanted negotiations, not death and destruction.

As I watched the tactical screen, the pain in my hand increasing, I made out that our Phaser blast had managed to deal serious damage to their shield subsystem. It seems engineering managed to spare much more power than my console read as available. Now, the torpedoes started striking the oddly shielded ship, curiously enough doing less damage than maximum yield ought to achieve.

Not being able to stop the launching and now in serious pain, all I could do was make out the reason: their 'ray bending' shields absorbed energy not only at the edges, but also right up to the emitters themselves.

Nevertheless, it seemed that the ongoing torpedo strikes would suffice to destroy the enemy ship. Unable to stop the torpedo launches from the Bridge, all I could do was call engineering and ask them to try and stop them...

"Roondar to engineering, bridge weapon control is still down - we have unauthorised torpedo launches in progress!"

The pain was slowly becomming unbearable... The burn was more serious than I had guessed and it felt like the entire right side of my body was on fire!

"I could also... Use a medic.... over here...", I managed to say, while a rain of death flew at the enemy ship...

-- More later

OOC: I've done some first aid and trust me, burning your entire hand like that is not something you just shrug off ;)

Lt. Cmdr. Khas - Sciences

I watched as the quantum torpedoes pummelled the alien ship. As large quantities of zero-point energy triggered massive explosions, a strange sensor reading appeared. An element unlike anything I'd ever seen before was registering on sensors.

"What the hell?" I said, as the energy built, and before my very eyes, the dagger ship exploded in a brilliant ball of light. "Okay! Who else wants to throttle Sonofccn for pretty much starting a war?"

I felt a disturbance in the force as thousands of men cried out in pain.... imperial men..

... I wondered for a second about it.. how could a ship this small take down an imperial star destroyer..... no maybe another ship was present.. but I detected no life force...

...

Either this ship was a clever deception, or I wasn't in Corellia anymore...

Slowly the security personnel escorted me to the command center of the ship. Even with some scars from damage the ship was remarkably pristine... even given a blockade runner a run for her money. Curiously I spoke to them and they seemed to understand my questions but I could not understand theirs back, instead relying entirely on the force to guide me through the conversation.

The doors opened to the command center of the ship and there I saw the banged up systems and computers... but still this looked like no bridge of any ship I had been on before.

I did however recognize that the man sitting in the center chair was clearly a captain of some sort... I also noted that a younger man was getting glares from many people in the room.... I couldn't quite pinpoint why, but it seemed he had done something they highly disapproved of...

The crew however quickly turned their attention to the robed man on their bridge, namely me. I reached out with the force in an attempt to calm them to my presence... "I am a Jedi... I mean you no harm."

Again, I really hope they understood me.

I looked at the strange man in robes who had walked onto the bridge.
"Jedi? What's that, your species?" I asked.

Commander Cocytus
Chief Engineer

Kaplan had transferred as much power to the phasers as he could muster, and a brief smile flashed across my lips as a brilliant beam lanced across the enemy vessel's shields, dealing a considerable blow. I didn't get the chance to offer any praise to my subordinate, as any satisfaction I might have enjoyed was preempted by a new problem: volleys of quantum torpedoes were being fired at maximum yield. The space around both our ships was lit by a brilliant cascade of explosions, and we shuddered from the shockwaves of so many close-proximity blasts.

"What the hell is going on," I roared over the din. Cursing is unbecoming a Starfleet officer, but the intensity of the moment was even getting to me by that point. The look on Kaplan's face denoted his stunned surprise at the sudden launches, and he looked at me as if to say it wasn't his fault. I knew it wasn't, because at that moment another urgent call came from Lieutenant Roondar on the bridge, imploring me to shut off the launchers any way I could.

I dashed to the main isolinear control junction. All the ships primary functions were routed through here, and I quickly located the chip series that controlled launcher power feed. The thought briefly occurred to me that, should the necessity present itself, I could assume control of the entire ship from this point. I could reroute main control through Main Engineering, shields, weapons, propulsion, all of it. Such a measure could only ever be used at the utmost end of need, if the bridge was destroyed or all its officers dead or incapacitated. Kaplan shouted to me that the enemy vessel was registering a strange energy buildup. I pulled out the isolinear series for the forward launchers, effectively disabling them, unless someone fired a torpedo from inside the launcher itself, or I put the chips back. Disabling the launchers was a risky move to be sure, but I soon saw we had little further need of them, as the dagger shaped ship was consumed by a tremendous explosion which buffeted our own vessel, sending several junior officers pirouetting through the air.

"Dammit," I swore under my breath. For the second time today, I've been denied the opportunity to observe a new species' technology. There would likely be little of value to salvage from a blast like that.

One of the men addressed me, although I could not quite understand him....

I quickly explained that I could not figure out their language, but recognized that they somehow understood me. In bewiddlerment I waited for a minute or two while a few people discussed something and shortly there after I was handed an odd device and a woman dressed in blue placed something into my ear.

After a few moments the words started to become clearer to me and I heard the man re ask his question.

"Race? No, I am a human. I am a member of the Jedi Order. I have been brought here by the force... for what purpose I do not know."

I looked on at them all and continued as I sensed some of their questions filtering to the surface. "The ship you destroyed was an Imperial Star Destroyer. They will not take lightly to its destruction, and be even more displeased should they discover me aboard your ship. The Empire will soon wonder what happened to her, presuming they do not already know." I took a deep breath.

"I hope you do not presume it to be rude of me to ask as we have already met, but I request any aid you can give me and my allies in our struggle against the Empire... I'll understand if you can not offer any, in fact you have done far more than I could have ever asked to begin with by destroying that vessel."

"We've never heard of this Empire." I said.
"And we weren't trying to destroy that ship. Roondar added. "Cadet Sonofccn redirected firing control from my console to his. And from what you're saying, nearly started a war in the process."
"Well, any ally against the Empire is welcome." The man paused. "By the way, what kind of starship is this?"
"It's a Federation starship, Sovereign-class." I said.
"You're with the Trade Federation?"
"Trade Feder-? No, we're with the United Federation of Planets. Who is this Trade Federation?"
"That's not important. What is important is that you managed to destroy the Star Destroyer. I'm in your debt for that." He paused. "By the way, I didn't get your names."
"Lieutenant Commander Khas." I said.
"Lieutenant Roondar. And yours?"
"Trinoya."
"Well, Trinoya. I guess we have a LOT to talk about. Do you recognize this element?" I said, as I showed him what appeared just before the 'Star Destroyer' had exploded.
"Baradium. Why do you ask?"
"Because apparently baradium and zero-point energy don't get along."

Don't get along I thought to myself...

"Well that is indeed favorable to my allies in the event that your weapons are this effective... I am sorry to hear of the mistake that led to this action... there were... at least several thousand men onboard.. a full compliment can be upwards of 30,000... there may be survivors if you wish to check... although I would request that you keep my presence on board a secret..."

I breathed a deep sigh

"Destroying their ship is one thing...." I then looked up...

"I'm sorry to inform you that... Protecting a jedi... that's punishable by death... and at the very least... war in this case."

I pondered his question and began my answer.

"We are... Sorry.. We were guardians of peace and justice. We are given the gift known as the force to utilize as a tool... but we are also servants of the force. It was our duty to see to it that the force was not abused and that order was maintained in the Republic."

I sighed. "Unfortunately there are those opposite of a Jedi.. known as the Sith. They too have mastered the ability to use the force, to be one with all life around them... but a Sith uses the force for his own ends and greed and never for the greater good."

I looked up and motioned to a nearby object and it flew over to me gently. "This is the power of the force... it can manipulate the world, alter it, shape it. It can influence the minds of the weak and currupt those of the strong. As you can see the responsibility to have such power is great..."

I decided I'd attempt to explain to them what had happened.

"Many years ago a Sith, known as Palpatine, overthrew the Republic, an orginization of worlds whom the Jedi were sworn to protect. He did so by making us out to be enemies of the peace and villians... he slaughtered our order in a matter of hours... we had no chance to resist or defend ourselves. I am one of but a handful of Jedi that remain."

"Recently, the now Emperor Palpatine decided to clean up the rest of us in the wake of the destruction of the Death Star." I became downcast.... I had been born on Alderaan. "I've been on the run for years... but sending an entire star destroyer after one Jedi would have before hand been considered overkill." I took a step back and knelt with my lightsaber held forward in my hands towards the man who appeared to be the captain of the ship.

"I implore you, the weapons the empire creates are terrible, capable of destroying entire worlds. The Rebellion and those loyal to the republic need your aid... I will be forever in your debt if your crew would assist us captain."
