What do you think about the idea of a webcomic?

Idea v1.0 Beta:

I'm always on the lookout for new ideas to improve this website and the content I can provide with it. I'm also tickled pink at times by the hilarity that is the VS debate community. VS debates are, IMO, inherently funny.

So among the ideas I've been ruminating over are (a) rounding up some editors and adding a "published" fan fiction section for carefully reviewed quality fan fiction, and (b) exploring the possibilities of presenting the funny side of the VS debate through a webcomic.

So what would you think of the notion of adding a webcomic portal to SFJ? There may come a time when I am able to come up with a weekly webcomic, and I could also see taking submissions and putting them up.

If you find it interesting, or would be interested in writing or drawing submissions (crossover pieces or pieces on the VS debate) at some point, speak up, in here or via PM/e-mail. For now, this is just a working idea.

Oh, definitely. I especially like the "(b)" idea. There certainly wouldn't be any shortage of material to work with. I'm not particularly good at drawing, but writing for something like this could be interesting.

I'm down. I'm decent at drawing and I can be an editor for fanfics or whatever, currently having internet problems though.

I like the sound of this. Drawing, writing... now I can hope that if the two of you can collaborate, I'll be able to get away with just hosting and promoting.

If you like, I can e-mail the two of you some more specific ideas I've had in terms of caricature notions, general hooks, ploys, or anything else, but if you already have enough ideas to work with, don't let me get in your way!

I'll probably throw out a few of my own once I have time, but I'll concentrate on making things easy for other people and setting up the website first. I'll go dig up some nice scripts for hosting/running a webcomic. Let's make this happen.

Sounds good. Of course if AnonymousRedShirtEnsign is still having internet difficulties, it may be a while before we can have any real collaboration. My main issue at the moment though is college keeping me busy (I'm in my third year, and things have really picked up). It's the main reason I haven't been able to really get involved in any debates yet other than asking a couple of questions along the way. Hopefully I should have enough spare time to contribute to working on this project.

I seem to have trouble finding that notebook, but I should be able to reproduce it once I have time to spare.

I fixed my internet problems, but I was wondering what you guys wanted drawn? I'm better at technical drawing (ships, weapons, schematics, etc.), but I'm alright at people and other things too. Once I see what sort of story ideas you guys have I might chip in there also, or get my brother as he is good at writing comedy, but I don't know if he'd be interested. Also classes are about to start, so I don't know how much free time I'll have.
