VS debate hits the vlogs

Post by Jedi Master Spock » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:22 am

We've seen fan-films... we've seen enactments... and now I see that we have the entry of the VS debate into the video blogs. (There are a lot of responses from other vloggers on there, too - over 20.)

Dude, I have never heard of Picard v Obi Wan before.

Picard would so kick his ass and then, berate him while he was lying unconsicous with a phaser blast burn.

I'm suprised by the lack of "F*** You! Trek Sux!" responses, maybe there is some hope for humanity.

As soon as he started talking about Voyager I turned it off. If he likes that crap than I'm not interested in anything else he has to say.

Hey, Voyager was good. It's waht got me into Trek. Just because he likes something you doesn't is not grounds for dismissal of his arguements.

As much as I don't like Voyager overall, there were some very excellent episodes that came out of it. Especially the episodes that had anything specifically to do with the EMH or Seven.

I wonder if this "Blunty" guy has read David Brin's two articles since what he says echos Brin's essays' points very closely.

No Voyager was shit, unbelievable shit. The producers had the chance to take Trek in a fresh new direction and gave us TNG with more technobabble. And a pscyopath for a Captain, not to mention an incompetant one at that. The show only marginaly improved with the addition of Seven breasts.

Although I agree with this assessment of the show, I feel that saying:

Is exagerated.
Which is to show how much what one thinks of anything is so subjective.
I believe Voyager should have been better, but there really are good episodes that rank up there with the best of Trek.
Of course, there are more bad episodes in Voyager alone than in all the other Trek series put toghether, but that's just my opinion... :)

Well, their search for their owner's lost humanity was nice, but anybody could see it was just Data's plight all over again (only way better looking :) )...
